The 21-pin SCART connection on the back panel of the RDV-1060 is a connection widely used on TVs in Europe. This connection carries stereo analog audio, composite video, component video, or RGB video signals simultaneously. When connecting to a SCART-equipped TV, the SCART connection is the only connection necessary to get both video and analog audio signals to the TV.
The rear panel of many Rotel models include an RJ45 connection labeled "Computer I/O". This connection is used for serial RS232 control from control systems such as Crestron or Control4, or to upgrade the internal software in the unit. A special RJ45 to DB9 conversion cable is required in order to connect from a standard DB9 serial connection. Many Rotel products include this cable, or it may also be available through the local Rotel authorized dealer or distributor.
A PDF of the pin diagram for this cable can be downloaded via the link below:
The default PIN number to pair your Bluetooth device to the Rotel Bluetooth dongle is '0000'.
The fixed volume menu option allows you to designate certain inputs on your Rotel system as having a Fixed Volume level that can be anywhere from 1-95.
The purpose of this is to accomodate sources that have their own volume control such as Sonos or streaming Bluetooth audio from a mobile device. By setting the volume to fixed on the Rotel, you can just use the volume control on the source device instead of having to adjust the volume both on the Rotel as well as the source device.
This switch is used to enable or disable the 12 volt trigger sensing circuitry on the amplifier. If the switch is set to the ON position, the power amplifier will remain in standby mode until it detects a 12 volt signal at the 12V Trigger Input on the back panel. When the 12 volt signal disappears, the amplifier will return to standby mode. This switch should only be set to ON when 12 volt triggers are used in the system, if they are not the switch should remain off or in the Signal Sense position (where applicable).

Video transcoding provides the option to take a signal such as component and change it to HDMI. This feature is desired if you have multiple video source components with different outputs. You can transcode to one HDMI output to send to the video display. Depending on the HDMI version of your system though, you may not be able to send audio over the HDMI cable and will require a separate connection for that.
Sometimes known as 3-D Phonic, VSS offers two channel users of DVDs a simulated surround effect from two speakers.
The front panel USB input on the RA-1592, RC-1590 and RSP-1582 is designed specifically for use with Apple iOS devices, and is not compatible with any other USB devices.
