I have set up internet radio, but when I switch on it takes over a minute for the sound of the station to be heard.
This is normal - the time taken to find and listen to an internet radio station can vary and can take over a minute. This is dependent on lots of different related factors - from issues involving your network to how good the radio service is. In practice the time taken can be as small as 2 seconds.

I need to put the unit closer to a wall - is there any way to use a smaller wireless dongle?
We do not recommend using a different wireless dongle, but if you do need to reduce the amount of space in the rear of the unit, you can use a short USB extension cable to move the radio closer to the wall. Do not use a cable over 20cm or 8".

I'm getting sound from Dolby Digital DVDs, but not dts. Why?
The digital audio output of your DVD player is not configured to output dts. To change the mode to allow dts streaming, stop the disc and remove it from the DVD player, then follow the instructions below depending on your DVD player:
- RDV-1045: With the disc stopped or no disc loaded, push "Set Up" on the remote control for a few seconds to display the Setup menu, then select the Audio tab (speaker icon). Change the Digital Audio Output to Stream/PCM.
- RDV-1040 / RDV-1050: Push "Choice" on the remote control for a few seconds to display the Setup menu, then select the Audio tab (speaker icon). Change the Digital Audio Output to Stream/PCM.
- RDV-985 / RDV-1080: Push "On-Screen" on the remote control and select the Preference 2 tab. Then change the output to Stream/PCM.
- RDV-995: Press and hold the "shift" button and press the "choice" button to access the on-screen display. Select the Audio tab, and change the output to Stream/PCM.
Please note that you need a Dolby Digital/DTS processor and amplifier or receiver to enjoy 5.1 surround sound.

I'm not getting any audio from the PC-USB input.
If you are not getting audio from the PC-USB input on your Rotel system, here are a few things you can check.
- First, check the audio devices on your computer to make sure the Rotel device is set as the audio output device.
Windows:
Go to Control Panel -> Hardware and Sound -> Manage Audio Devices
Mac:
Go to System Preferences -> Sound
Make sure 'Rotel PC-USB' is selected as the active sound device.
- If the Rotel device does not appear on the list of sound devices, make sure the USB cable is properly seated on both the computer and the PC-USB input.
- If you are connecting to a Windows computer and the Rotel device has been set to PC-USB Audio Class 2.0, you need to first install the driver or Windows will not recognize the device.
- Also try restarting whatever program you are trying to play. For example if iTunes was open before you connected the Rotel device to the computer it must be restarted to recognize the change.

I'm not getting sound from my center or rear channel speakers when watching a DVD. Why?
Your DVD players digital audio settings may be set to only output PCM two channel stereo. To change the mode to Dolby Digital, stop the disc and remove it from the DVD player, then follow the instructions below depending on your DVD player:
- RDV-1092 / RDV-1093: With the disc stopped or no disc loaded, push "Set Up" on the remote control to display the Setup menu, then select Audio setup. Change the Digital Audio Output to Multichannel.
- RDV-1045: With the disc stopped or no disc loaded, push "Set Up" on the remote control for a few seconds to display the Setup menu, then select the Audio tab (speaker icon). Change the Digital Audio Output to Stream/PCM.
- RDV-1040 / RDV-1050: Push "Choice" on the remote control for a few seconds to display the Setup menu, then select the Audio tab (speaker icon). Change the Digital Audio Output to Stream/PCM.
- RDV-985 / RDV-1080: Push "On-Screen" on the remote control and select the Preference 2 tab. Then change the output to Stream/PCM.

If my Rotel CD player is connected digitally with the coaxial output, will it still decode HDCD?
Using the digital output of the CD player will bypass all digital-to-analog decoding of the CD, including the HDCD decoding. As such, the only way to gain the benefits of HDCD when connecting digitally is if the receiver/processor/DAC you are connecting to includes HDCD decoding. Rotel’s RSP-1066 and RSP-1098 Processors, and RSX-1055 and RSX-1065 receivers do include HDCD decoding. Otherwise, the only way to get the benefit of HDCD is via the analog RCA connections.

Is there a way to just watch TV without turning on my entire home theater system?
Yes - many Rotel surround processors and receivers with HDMI include a feature called "Standby passthrough" that will allow you to pass an HDMI audio/video signal through the Rotel system even while it is in standby. This would allow you to watch TV using just the TV speakers instead of turning on the theater, for example.

Is there a way to manually eject a jammed disc from the CD player?
In rare cases a situation may arise in which a disc may become stuck in the slot loading CD mechanism. The following procedure can be used to manually extract a disc from the mechanism in this case.
- Remove the top cover of the unit and locate the small white eject gear located on the rear left side of the CD mechanism.
- Use a small Phillips head screwdriver to turn the gear counterclockwise until the disc is ejected. The back of the mechanism near the screw is labeled showing the direction the gear should turn in order to eject.

Is there an IR remote code available to Power On or Off for Rotel CD players?
Rotel CD player models in the 10 and 02 series did not have an IR code for Power on or off, however to remotely turn the unit on and off the 12 Volt trigger input on the back panel of the unit can be used with any Rotel and many other preamplifiers and receivers to trigger the CD player on and off with the preamplifier. Alternatively, if the preamplifier has a switched AC outlet this can be used also to power the CD player on and off.
