What is the purpose of the "Fixed Volume" option?
The fixed volume menu option allows you to designate certain inputs on your Rotel system as having a Fixed Volume level that can be anywhere from 1-95.
The purpose of this is to accomodate sources that have their own volume control such as Sonos or streaming Bluetooth audio from a mobile device. By setting the volume to fixed on the Rotel, you can just use the volume control on the source device instead of having to adjust the volume both on the Rotel as well as the source device.
- To determine the best volume level to fix the input to, start by selecting the input you want to set to a fixed level and make sure the volume on the Rotel device is at minimum.
- Turn the volume on the SOURCE up to its maximum.
- Slowly turn up the volume on the ROTEL until you reach a level that you feel is comfortable being the maximum volume for this source.
- Once you have determined the level to use, you can adjust this input to fixed volume via the setup menu.
