I file AAC sono compatibili con Windows Media Player 12; Windows Media Player 11, invece, potrebbe richiedere un programma di terzi per poterli riprodurre con Windows Media Player. Se Windows Media Player è in grado di riprodurre il file, lo streaming avverrà tramite il collegamento UPnP.
